The first day of entering Islamic elementary school became a thrilling moment for me. I was wearing a white uniform with a red skirt, complete with a small veil that my mother wore neatly. In front of the school gate, I saw many other children in the same uniform, some were already joking and talking to each other. I held Mom's hand tightly, feeling a little nervous about this new world.
After entering the class, I started to pay attention to things that were different from my previous kindergarten. In addition to learning to read, write, and count, there are also lessons about daily prayers, prophet stories, and reciting. I sat quietly while listening to the teacher tell me about the importance of doing good to others. The class atmosphere felt warm and fun, slowly I started to feel comfortable.
When it was time to pray, all the students marched towards the small prayer at school. I followed my friends who first did ablution, trying to remember the movements well. Congregational prayer became a new experience for me at school, making me feel closer to my friends and also to Allah. I began to realize that this school is not only a place to study, but also a place where I understand religious values more deeply.
That day ended with a lot of valuable experience. Although at first I felt afraid, now I know that attending Islamic Elementary School will bring me many fun new things. I went home with a relieved heart, ready to face the next days with greater spirit.
